SCRAP HAPPY RETREAT

This past weekend Whitney and I went to the Scrap Happy retreat up in Shingletown. It was so much fun!! It's just so relaxing and enjoyable spending time with the other women there. We're like a big family! Angie had 3 projects for us to make and they were so cute! A set of cards, a tin decorated with a cupcake theme, and then a cupcake shaped album that goes inside the tin. I wish I had even 1/4 of Angie's creativity!! She's amazing and if you've never taken a class from her, you should. She's doing classes at Crafters Mall and Scrappin' Friends.

Speaking of Scrappin' Friends, Heidi has a great Halloween crop planned on Saturday, October 24th from 10:00 a.m. to midnight. Lunch and dinner will be served and there will be raffles, games and prizes! The cost is $25. I'm hoping I'll get a chance to go!

Today Whitney and I are making applesauce. Howard brought home a huge box of apples (not sure what kind) so I decided I needed to do something with them. I've never made it before, but how hard can it be?! On Thursday Wendy and I leave for Glendale AZ. I'm hoping to get a chance to go to Scrapbooks Etc. while we're there...they own the Bazzill company and I hear it's an awesome store!

NEW STORE

Here's the info on the new store:

Scrappin' Friends
1484 Hartnell Ave. Suite B
Redding

phone #722-9200

It's a cute little building just a tad west of where the gift shop "M" was. If you're heading east on Hartnell it will be on your left hand side between Churn Creek and Victor. She has Friday night crops and classes...I'm excited that there is somewhere I can go to play!

I just got back from Austin, TX...they are so friendly there! And Wendy & I ate the best Texas BBQ. I wish we could spend more time visiting the places we go to. We're so busy working at the conventions that we don't get a chance to get out, and I don't think Piggy Tales wants to pay for us to go a day early just to see the sights! Speaking of PT, you should go to their website and check out all of their cute product. It's www.piggytales.com. They have a great kit of the month club called Piggy Tales Academy or the PTA! (It's our job to create all the kits for next year so now I've got to get the creative juices flowing!) Let me know if you have any questions about it!

UPDATE

So in my last post, I said I'd write about my new job. I'm working for a scrapbook company called Piggy Tales. I am traveling with them to the Creating Keepsakes conventions to work in their booth selling their product. I was in Oklahoma a few weeks ago and am going to Texas next weekend. Wendy Johnson got me the job because she was hired by them to be over their Education department. We'll be traveling together most of the time and she will be teaching their classes. She said we could switch off sometimes and I could teach and she could work the booth. That sounds fun, but I must admit I'm going to be a little nervous at first. So that's my new adventure! I'm not sure if anyone is even reading this anymore. I'm trying to decide if I want to keep this as my blog or use the one I started a long time ago called The Berry Patch. I guess what really matters is that I actually write in either of them!

The new scrapbook store is cute! Heidi did a great job decorating it. I'm looking forward to Friday night crops although it's going to be awhile until I can get to one. If someone needs the address, just leave a comment and I'll post it.

ONLY TWO DAYS LEFT

Wow, these last few remaining days are going fast. I wasn't going to drop the savings lower than 50% but I decided I just want everything to go. I really don't want to pack anything up, and then figure out where to store it until I figure out what to do with it! So now all paper & embellishments are 60% off, (except ribbon is still 25 cents a yard which makes it 75% off) and clearance is 90% off! That makes Bazzill only 24 cents a sheet so come in and stock up. There are still at least 50 colors to choose from. I am now giving away the office chairs so let us know if you want one. There are still 2 metal chairs left which are $5 each.

Our last day is this Saturday (Aug. 29th) and we're open until 5:00 pm. Howard & I will probably spend that evening and part of Sunday packing up and cleaning. Even though it will be a relief to be done owning a business, it is actually going to be sad on Monday when I lock the door one final time and turn in the key. My customers, my employees, the luscious rainbow of Bazzill colors and even the old ugly linoleum floors in the crop area have been such a big part of my life these past 4 years! (Oct. 15th would've been 4) Lots of great memories have been made...Friday night crops, the annual Mother's day crop with silly games and yummy food, awesome classes, scraplifting, two dumpster fires, sketchy people hanging out in the parking lot, plugged toilets (okay, maybe some not so great memories either!), but mostly, all the wonderful friendships made. I have been blessed with so many new friends! We'll just have to keep croppin' whenever we can so we can keep in touch! Oh, and I've decided to keep this as my blog to help keep in touch and I'll post any exciting scrapbooking news I hear. I'll even tell you about my new job with Creating Keepsakes Conventions but that will be a later post. (and some of us plan to make page kits to sell so I'll let you know about that also!)

Take care everyone!
Love, Toni
